Tresind Dubai

Tresind Dubai - Avocado starter

Tresind Dubai is Modernist Indian food, fusion and molecular undertones, some theatrics, a touch of royalty and whole lot of taste. Unlike its sister restaurant, Carnival by Tresind Dubai, which has not more of theatrics, Tresind is one the best Indian fine dine in Dubai. Highly recommended from among the Indian restaurants that I’ve been to in Dubai, as much for food as for the experience

  1. Cuisine
    • Modernist Indian Cuisine based on the philosophy of Less is More. Do note I don’t say North Indian as many dishes on the menu are inspired by the gujarati delicacies.
    • Having worked and stayed in Mumbai for almost 10yrs, the food reminded me of the Mumbai earthiness and flavours with the chef theatrics adding the funkiness. If you’re looking for more of the quirkiness and fun factor, make your way to Carnival by Tresind which is also one of the best Indian fine dine in Dubai.
    • A lot of vegetarian options with all sorts of combinations
    • Please see this post on other recommended restaurants in Dubai including recommended Indian restaurants.
  2. Location, Parking and Opening Hours
    • Located in Nassima Royal Hotel, Trade Center Area, Dubai, there is valet parking available. They serve both lunch and dinner and open at 7pm for dinner
    • Accessibility and parking is not an issue at all despite being an office vicinity, as we went there on a Wednesday night
  3. Our Order
The experience starts off  with some kind of diffuser as Tresind focuses on a multi sensory experience. The amuse bouche served to us was a mélange of dishes – Crispy Okra, boondi and some gujarati dish. We ordered the following for the 2 of us:
    • The Dhokla Gazpacho, Fafda taco, Khiciya Museli and Khandvi gelato gujarati farsan
    • Avocado Galouti kebab, tortilla paratha, salsa and sour cream as the starter
    • Mix vegetable kofta, duet of curries, roasted fox nuts
    • Assorted Breads
    • While we did not order this, I do recommend trying a Modernist Chaat trolley as the Chef prepares it almost theatre style live in front of the audience (and foodies). I can be quite sure the flavours would be awesome.. I recommend this more for the fun and experience. Similarly in Carnival by Tresind they have the Chaat Tonga.
    • The palate cleanser was some kind of sorbet in a Japanese lemon shell. The representation was interesting.
  4. Service:
    • It’s a fine dine and thus I don’t recommend it with kids. If you want to enjoy the food, ambience and the conversations that flow this is a great place.
    • We had a longish chat with the restaurant manager at the fag end of our dinner. Their thinking about the menu, restaurant, fusions and the sister restaurant – Carnival by Tresind, was interesting.
    • The servers were there to clarify, explain and suggest.
  5. Ambience
    • Lovely ambience that has an air of both thoughtfulness and enjoyment to it
    • Their colors of cobalt and copper go well with the experience they’re trying to create here – Serious and fun, food and conversations.
  6. Cost for 2
    • For something like what we ordered it would be in the range of AED 400.
